GSA Search Engine Ranker – New Case Study *UPDATED* We hit #1!

*Update* 5/21/2012: Small Case Study

Hello everyone. I know its easy for a marketer to talk about how great a tool is when there is a commission involved, but what’s the point if the tool doesn’t achieve any real results? With this tool being so new to the market, I decided it was time to do a case study using a brand new domain and GSA Search Engine Ranker as the only banklinking source to see if I could get my site ranked.

The tool is called GSA Search Engine Ranker

Google Keyword Stats:

  • Local exact match: 1,300
  • Global searches: 2,400
  • Approximate CPC: $2.44
  • Competition: Medium
  • EMD available: Yes – .ORG

2/11/2012 – Purchased the domain. (8 days ago)

2/12/2012 – Installed WordPress, installed a theme, wrote 600-800 word article to use on the home page. (7 days ago)

2/13/2012 – Site still isn’t indexed in Google so I ping the site a few times. I decide to go ahead and create a linkbuilding project in GSA anyways (not recommended
if site isn’t indexed)

2/14/2012 – I see my privacy policy, contact and about us page indexed but my main home page URL is nowhere to be found! (starting to get worried)

2/15/2012 – Home page finally indexed! My website is nowhere to be found in the top 1,000 searches.

2/16/2012 – Website still isn’t anywhere in top 1,000.

2/17/2012 – Still nowhere in the top 1,000! GSA has built around 7k links with around 200 being verified so far. Only pr-1 and higher.

2/18/2012 – Still nowhere in the top 1,000! GSA has built around 8k links with around 300 being verified.

2/19/2012 Website is at #30 with 412 backlinks indexed!

See SERPbook Image Below. (click image)

I’d say that is pretty impressive results. In less than a week the website was indexed and shot to #30 with 412 links indexed in the search engines. I’ll continue to add to this case study as time progresses so stay tuned!

NEW UPDATE 4/1/2012! We have hit page 1!

Logged into serpbook today to check my rankings on the case study and guess what? The website has hit page 1!

2/19/12 it was ranked #30 with 412 links indexed
2/22/12 it was still ranked #30 with 712 links indexed
4/1/12 the site has hit #10 with 4532 links indexed

Rankings were achieved using only GSA Search Engine Ranker! I consider this case study officially complete and mission accomplished but I will continue running the software on this campaign to see how high up in the rankings we can make it.

NEW UPDATE 5/08/2012! Page Rank 3!

NEW UPDATE 5/21/2012! We hit #1!

This is the first time I have ever hit #1 in Google by simply using 1 piece of software. When I started this case study I didn’t intend on even getting on the first page for my keyword let alone hitting the #1 spot.

I am pretty stunned and amazed at the results this tool has given me.

NOTE:  A tool (software) is only as good as the person using it. As the saying goes, “with great power comes great responsibility”. This software is extremely powerful and if not used responsibly can give you negative results just as fast as it can give you positive results. Please make sure and do your research and due diligence before using any type of SEO tool. There are many on-page SEO factors that are important (keyword density, unique content, minimal ad’s above the fold,  no over optimization,  no keyword stuffing, etc) that are completely out of the software’s control so you must take care of your on-page SEO and make sure everything is good before beginning a campaign if you want to see good results.

If you have been using this tool and have results to share, please leave them in a comment below! Thank you!

The site is still ranked #5 and not only that, its also now a PageRank 3. I just updated the post with a new screenshot (5/8/2012). You can see how steady the rankings have been in the graph.

Nice men, thanks for the fast reply.

You are doing a good job and please “just keep it real” like you are doing it right now.

I will be buying gsa from you link!, also i will be adding another tool to the arsenal so i stay away from blognetworks until they develop a better way to keep their site indexed.

I was thinking on UD but still thiking it.

Maybe i could be testing it for $47 a month and the buy it. i think your wikisite list will be nice to add on it.

    Thanks.

No problem. I love trying out and reviewing software. I can say that this tool is definitely the future of SEO. The developer just added video submission, document submission and social networks. The future for this tool is massive. I haven’t tried UD yet but I’ve hard good and bad things but I think most of the bad was with its initial release. I think it will be a nice tool in time.

What tools do you recommend to have on every IM arsenal?

    • Admin
      May 10, 2012 | 1:16 am

Well of course GSA Search Engine Ranker is my main SEO tool right now. I think the other tool I recommended (keywordmap pro) is an awesome deal. Scrapebox of course is excellent but will require a bit of a learning curve. A good spinner is always handy when using these kind of software like Thebestspinner or Spinnerchief 2. The there’s the more expensive software like SEnuke X, etc.

I forgot to mention the best investment I’ve ever made was getting a VPS or Dedicated Server to run my tools on. If you haven’t done that yet, I’d highly recommend it. Let me know if you need help finding a good one.

Yup, I already found my solution for VPS.

I was using the networks for building my links but know i will diversify and try to use scrapebox and other tools again.

But i still cant decide for Senuke or ud and magic submitter.

Senuke doesnt have lots of sites so this is my why i dont choose it right from the first view.

Incredible results. Just started using this tool myself. I was wondering if you used all of the various submission options this tool offers to achieve the said result? e.g. social network, article, blog comment, directory, document sharing, etc, etc. Or just some of them? Also, do you use a single email address for all submissions or multiple email addresses?

    Keep up the great work!

    • Admin
      May 23, 2012 | 3:29 am

      Hey Bill,

Yes I’m blown away by the results myself. I had no expectations of ever ranking on the first page let alone grabbing the #1 spot. When I first started the case study there wasn’t even half as many platforms as there are now so I was using mainly everything that was there except pingbacks, indexer, referer. Most of the links in the beginning consisted of blog comments, guestbooks, image comments and then eventually as more platforms were added I also used them.

I also started using the separate GSA Indexer software ($20) and I have a feeling it really does help a lot. That software gets links indexed insanely fast and I think that’s why I’ve achieved the results I have in such a short period of time.

Also, this isn’t my only case study. I have website in a much more competitive niche and 1 of the keywords hit #1 and 4 of the other more competitive keywords are around the 11-14 spots on page 2 so they should be hitting page 1 very soon. All thanks to this amazing tool. Also there are some pretty amazing updates in store that will be free for customers. (imagine being able to add any platform you want easily) … That’s all I’ll say for now. 😉 Glad you like the software as much as I do.

    Hello Santos,

This result is Amazing, I bought GSA through your Aff link for all the effort you put here. I wanted to ask you some questions on how Did you achieve first page using just this tool.

    1. Are you using all modules together in One Project? or you split it for convenience?

    2. Did you import target URLs to post in each Platform?, If not how many keywords did you use to let GSA scrape with your related keywords?.

    3. When you say GSA indexer works insanely fast, how long in average it takes to index your links?

    4. Are you getting Articles and Social Network Content Posted? I tried to import some Article Directory and all that I received was Statistics sites and I did unchecked that option and Left only AD to post but I don’t know why that happened

    5. Did Mediawiki index fast with GSA indexer? I have post a lot but too low to index.

I know is a lot of questions but please let us know to see how you use this tool to achieve these incredible results,

    Thanks man.

Hi Richard. I appreciate you buying through my affiliate link. Can I ask when you ordered through my link? I’m just wondering because I don’t see any commission received from your name. It’s fine if I didn’t receive the commission but I want to make sure my affiliate link is working properly in case for future sales. Thanks

      1) I’m a bit confused. What do you mean by modules per project? Do you mean platforms like forums, blogs, article sites, etc? If so, then I usually will run all the platforms together in one project. Again, I’m not sure exactly what you mean by modules so if you can clarify, I’ll try to be more specific.

      2) Sometimes I’ll import target URL’s but most of the time I just let GSA scrape targets. GSA only uses keywords to scrape targets for blogs, trackbacks and e107 forums but I try to add as many keywords as possible. I use keywordmap pro and I copy and paste them in the software.

      3) That depends on how many threads you run and how many links you’re trying to get indexed. I haven’t tried putting just one link in the software to see how fast it does it but I’ll have to give that a try and get back to you.

      4) Yes I am getting articles and social networks posted without any problems. You should try and let it scrape on its own instead of importing directories and see if that works.

      5) I haven’t checked which backlinks got indexed. I use serpbook.com to track my rankings and in that tool it shows how many backlinks are indexed but it doesn’t show which backlinks exactly. All I know is the number of backlinks indexed kept increasing very fast while running this tool.

I will try to come up with a tutorial on how I got my site ranked using this software and what settings I used to do that. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    May 25, 2012 | 1:09 pm

Hi Santos, thank you for your reply. I bought the Software on May 9th.

    1. What I mean by module is Platforms. So that means you run All together Including Guestbooks, Trackbacks, etc.

    2. How many keywords are we talking about?, about a thousand?

    3. Well I will buy that Indexer to see how well it works.

    4. About your Articles and Social Network Posting. Are you just targeting One keyword and One URL?, are you using just One Anchor text?, If not how many are you using?.

A tutorial would be nice I’m trying to use this tool but I’m little lost yet. Thanks man!

      Hey Richard,

I made a couple of quick videos to try and help out a bit but I might have missed a few of your questions in the videos so I’ll answer them here.

      1) You can grab as many keywords as you want but I generally try to get at least 50 but at times have loaded 500-600. The more keywords you can get, the better, but you don’t have to worry about spending a lot of time getting thousands of relevant keywords. As a minimum I’d try to get at least 50.

      2) I try to target multiple URL’s and vary my anchor text with all the links and platforms I use. I might have anywhere from 5-20 anchors per URL. I’ve been doing this lately because of the recent Penguin update and have been reading the importance of varying your anchor text and trying to make it look natural.

You can see the video tutorials here: http://www.scrapeboxhelp.com/gsa-search-engine-ranker-how-i-achieved-1st-page-rankings-video

Hey Santos Thank you for replying me.

    Are you still #1?

I think I recovered one of my website with this tool but I’m confused I can see My website from my computer but from others no. Really weird, also I see it with one of my VPS and others no.

Additionally I wanted to ask you if with these links you created yo also apply some tiers to your first tier

    thanks

      June 10, 2012 | 3:09 pm

Hi, yes I am still #1 although, I feel I have started to focus on two other domains now in more competitive niches. Yes you can apply tiers to your first tier if you want. For my case study I didn’t do that but I definitely will for my new projects.

Hey Santos, Thank you for replying me

Last Question my friend and I Won’t bother you more lol.

Did you applied any limit per day to this case study?, If so which configuration Did you use?

and for last, Are you planning to do these tiers with GSA, or are you going to use other tool?

    thanks

    • Admin
      June 14, 2012 | 11:46 pm

I didn’t apply any limit while doing the case study but I did turn the software off and on every once in a while. Also, I do plan on using the new tier feature in GSA on some new campaigns.

Hey Santos sorry for posting late (I noticed thelast reply was. June)

Do you think I can rank a mns using GSA without a VPS? I ask because I can’t afford one quite yet and just want to run it on my laptop for now.
Also can you email me some manual link building techniques? I want to UAE GSA and scrapebox while manual link building.

    Hi

    Thanks for the great post.

I am searching for an article on how best to use SB and GSA tool together.

There seems to be an overlap of the tools.

Is there a best practice or can you offer any advice on how to use them together?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Admin
      August 21, 2012 | 4:01 am

The best way to use them together would be to use Scrapebox as its primary function which is scraping. You can harvest large lists of websites using Scrapebox and then import them into GSA and let it do all the link building/filtering, etc.

That is the main way I would use them together. There really is no need to use the blog commentor in scrapebox because GSA SER can do it all for you and handle the PR and OBL filtering while its building links. That takes away some of the time consuming steps you would have to do if you filtered everything with Scrapebox first. You can simply scrape any list of websites with Scrapebox and it doesn’t matter the platforms because GSA SER will detect and post to them automatically.

I purchased this software last year and experminted with it by building links to my wife’s facebook page and her masonic lodge page. it took me a year running off and on sometimes for 2 days straight to get her and her lodge to page one. I just built links. face book provided all the conent on its own. I want to use this on a VPS but not quite sure how to advertise my amazonaffiliate site using this.

I did some research before buying this tool and it was this case study that swayed me….I can honestly say that if used correctly (consider super spun content by a real person before starting) you can achieve great things. I personally achieved page one rankings for 3 out of 5 keywords in under 1 week….medium competition words with approx 2400 exact matches/month. If used correctly, this tool really is an all in one SEO solution.
